Thursday 26th November - Regional Tier Restrictions
The Government has announced that when the 2nd lockdown ends on 2nd December the whole of Lincolnshire will be in Tier 3 restrictions. This will be reviewed by 16th December and then regularly after that.
We have therefore decided that, as we will be closed until at least the 16th December, we won't be taking any bookings for Christmas Day as it would, at best, be extremely difficult to manage.
We will let you know about any further decisions once the review has taken place on the 16th December.
Again we would like to thank everyone for their kind words of support, it is greatly appreciated.
Please continue to keep safe and look after yourselves.
Sunday 1st November - 2nd National lockdown
As you will have heard the government has ordered the second closure of hospitality because of COVID19 and so we will, unfortunately, be closed from Thursday 5th November until December or further notice. All bookings that have been made for that period are now cancelled.
We will not be offering a takeaway service.
We would like to thank all of our customers for their support and kind messages over the last few weeks and months.
Please do keep safe and look after yourselves.
Thursday 25th June 2020 - Plans for reopening
We are currently hard at work putting in place our safety and cleaning measures to ensure a visit to The Red Lion Inn is both safe for our customers and for our staff.
From Saturday 4th July we plan initially to open for a drinks only service on a Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening from 6pm and on a Sunday lunchtime from 12 noon until 3pm.
Richie is hoping to re-open the kitchen in August.
•We are working on a booking, ordering and payment area for the website, which we will be trialling during July. This will help us as we are requested to hold contact details of all of our customers for the governments track and trace service for 21 days. This will hopefully be up and running next week.
•We will also take bookings over the phone from Thursday 2nd July when we will require your names and contact numbers as well as the date and time you wish to book for. We will then confirm this with you, table space allowing.
•We will only be offering table service, or via the website, and not service at the bar and you will need to maintain appropriate social distancing for the whole of your visit to The Red Lion.
•Drinks will be dispensed to your table and empty glasses will be collected from you. We are encouraging payment either on the website or by contactless card payment, although we will be able to take cash payments too.
•There will be hand sanitiser freely available around the pub and there is the necessary signage around the pub to help you.
•The toilets will be restricted to one person at at a time, and are equipped with running water and soap and hand driers.
We look forward to opening up again in this ‘new normal’ way and hope that we will see you soon!

Friday 20th March 2020
We continue to be open at The Red Lion Inn and plan on being so for as long as we are allowed to be. To enable us to carry on we are asking our customers to take note of the government’s advice on social distancing and if visiting the pub to take note of the various requests about hand washing and using the seating as positioned in the bars.
We have decided that after this weekend we will not serve breakfast on a Saturday morning for the foreseeable future. We will also not be extending our Sunday dining hours and will continue serving only between 12 noon and 3pm. We will continue to close the bar at 2.30pm on a weekday afternoon and re-open at 6pm. We may also need to restrict food to our regular menus and remove our daily specials offerings.
We have set up a COVID19 update page on our website where we will publish any further updates about what is happening here so that you are all aware.
We are offering a takeaway food service and this can be ordered over the phone on 01790 753727, please choose from the Winter menu pages 1 and 2. If we can be of any help to any of you please don’t hesitate to ask and we will do our best to help.
Again a big thank you to all our team for all that they do to provide ‘The Red Lion Inn experience’, and a huge thank you to all our regular customers for their continued support and very kind messages. We will do our very best to keep this lovely old pub going.
Keep safe and take good care of yourselves.

If you would like to arrange for food to be prepared for you to takeaway please do call us, we are also happy for you to bring your own plates and cutlery if that would be helpful to you.
It is a difficult time for us all, and so we’d like to say thank you to our customers who have visited us over the last few days - we really appreciate your support.
So for now it is business as usual and we are looking forward to welcoming you all - please do come and see us.
